What You Can Expect

Our lives have been transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each Sunday morning we gather together to express our heartfelt gratitude and love for our Savior, in a service of celebration. This Celebration Service provides the context where we worship God together, hear the word of God proclaimed and taught and seek to grow in our mission as a Church.

A Welcoming Church

We love to meet new folks and consider it a privilege to have guests come to worship with us. People of all backgrounds, cultures and ages are welcome at Providence as we unite around the glorious gospel that reconciles all people to God in Christ.

Passionate Worship

The gospel is amazing news and our worship reflects the joy we find in Christ. We sing songs that celebrate truth in a contemporary way. We preach sermons grounded in the Bible. As we engage our heads and hearts in worship, impassioned orthodoxy is the result.

A Comfortable Environment

Wear what you feel comfortable in. The gospel brings together people from all walks of life and backgrounds and this gets reflected in our clothing. So whether you love to rock a suit or feel more at home in casual styles, wear what's normal and you'll fit right in.

How do I get to Providence?

You can find us in Lenexa, just north of the Pflumm and 103rd intersection on Lenexa Drive. Directions here.

When should I arrive?

While the service starts at 10 AM, we encourage you to arrive 10 minutes early to enable yourself time to check in any kids (see below for details) and find a seat. The service typically ends around 11:30.

What happens in the service?

The service (we call it the Sunday Celebration) is divided into two halves. For the first half we worship in song, close with a pastoral prayer and then have a brief welcome and announcements. The second half consists of worshipful expository preaching from the Bible. At the close of the service, there is time for personal ministry and extended greetings. Our pastors and members would love to meet you, so feel free to linger afterwards and say hello.

Who can I ask for help?

Our desire is to offer help and answer questions right when you arrive. Our greeters would be happy to assist you in any way they can or connect you with someone who can. We love to serve our guests, so please don’t hesitate to ask!

Where do my kids go?

For parents who are interested, we would love to serve you by caring for your kids in our Children’s Ministry. We check in children before the service starts at 10 AM. Children of nursery-age (infant through 4 years) are cared for throughout the entire service. Children 4-8 years are dismissed to classrooms before the sermon portion of the service. At the end of the service, parents can pick up their children using the security tags provided at check-in. If you have any questions on the day of your visit, our Day Coordinators would love to assist you. They can be found at the Children’s Ministry check-in station directly in front of our main entrance.

Do I need to be a Christian to visit?

Absolutely not. Like Jesus, we love when people of all backgrounds and faiths come around and explore who God is. Jesus loved people and loved answering their questions, we strive to be the same.
